WWII German Army Tropical Pith Helmet Shield
Ca. 1939 - 1945
This WWII Puth Helmet Shield was worn by Nazi troops of the Afrika korps fighting in North Africa and commanded by German General Erwin Rommel, known as "The Desert Fox." A genius in, and author of books on tank warfare, Rommel fathered a type of tank warfare never before seen in military history, winning victory after victory until allied forces overwhelmed the German troops in operation torch in 1943 which led to the capture of the Afrika korps.
