Ca. 1880's
Southern New Mexico Territory famous Outlaw Bill the Kid was known for many things including his weapon of choice, a Colt .41 Cal pistol, which took specific metal cartridges. This is a .41 Cal cartridge that dates back to the 1880's and was discovered by metal detectorists searching known campsites of the famous outlaw in New Mexico territory. It will never be known if this was fired by Billy the Kid, but it was found in the right place and dates to the right time.
