~ The Vietnam War ~
The Vietnam War was a contention in Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia from 1 November 1955 to the fall of Saigon on 30 April 1975. It was the second of the Indochina Wars and was formally battled between North Vietnam and South Vietnam. North Vietnam was upheld by the Soviet Union, China, and other socialist partners; South Vietnam was upheld by the United States and other enemy of socialist partners. The conflict is generally viewed as a Cold War-time intermediary war. It endured just about 20 years, with direct U.S. association finishing in 1973. The contention likewise gushed out over into adjoining states, compounding the Laotian Civil War and the Cambodian Civil War, which finished with each of the three nations becoming socialist states by 1975.
