The nativity of Christ refers to the birth of Jesus Christ in Bethlehem, as described in the New Testament of the Bible. According to Christian tradition, Jesus was born to Mary, a young Jewish woman, who had been visited by the angel Gabriel and told she would conceive a child by the Holy Spirit. The birth took place in a stable or cave, as there was no room for them in the inn. The event is celebrated by Christians around the world during the Christmas season, and is seen as the beginning of the story of Jesus' life and ministry on Earth.
