He was a pharmacist in Chilton, Wisconsin. For several years the oldest active pharmacist in the state.
Mr.Hipke graduated from the Chilton High School and attended Oshkosh state normal school, transferring to northwestern university in 1885. He graduated from the school of pharmacy in 1890. he opened his drug store in 1898 and ran it until his retirement in 1960.
