Notes: A little after 9PM local time a fireball traveling from the WNW heading ESE was  recorded by cameras on top of the Poas and Turrialba volcanoes. Soon after, a kilogram sized meteorite crashed through the roof of a house, damaging the rafters and a folding table inside. One specimen also fell through the roof of a doghouse. Many further specimens have since been found, but most pieces were not recovered until after rains had fallen in the area.
